Batteries are the foundation for a sustainable energy supply: Without them, neither the transportation nor the energy transition can be implemented effectively. In addition to great potential, however, the technology poses a number of challenges in terms of sustainability.

The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB in Münster supports the young European battery industry in overcoming these challenges by taking a holistic view of all influencing factors that go into the battery product and researching environmentally friendly innovations.
